Great Decisions 2009: "The U.S. and Rising Powers" Dr. Thomas Bartlett is President Emeritus of the American University of Cairo and Colgate University. He served as chancellor of the higher education systems for Alabama, New York and Oregon; and headed the Association of American Universities. He is currently a Trustee of the new American University of Kuwait and serves on the board of both the Duke University Center for Islamic Studies and the PSU Middle East Studies Center.
