Genomic Resource Development for Advancement of European hazelnut Breeding.
Here I discuss a new novel genome assembly technique that has been the focus of my MS thesis work. I present a trio-binned, haplotype-resolved, chromosome-level genome assembly of C. avellana 'Jefferson'. I also discuss gene annotation of the genome, and provide insight into genomic regions as they relate to our traits of interest, eastern filbert blight resistance and self-incompatibility. Finally I discuss six other genomes that were assembled and their genes annotated.
