OSL alum Matthew Johnson returned to Oregon State University to deliver the
keynote address to the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS)
Graduation Celebration, June 2025.
A 2017 Oregon State University graduate with a BS in Computer Science, Matthew was a Systems Engineer with the Open Source Lab (OSL) at the Center for Applied Systems and Software (CASS) during his student days. Since then, his journey has taken him through engineering leadership roles at Intel and Tesla, and today he serves as VP of Engineering at Generac Power Systems—leading software and engineering teams.
“I’m not here to talk about my successes; I’m here to talk about my failures…and how you will grow as engineers, and what it’ll take,” he told the audience of over 3000.
