Produced by the Oregon State College Agricultural Extension Service, this film demonstrates several methods for removing sage and planting improved grasses in arid environments. Filmed at the Elder Brothers ranch near Valley Falls, Oregon, this silent film includes intertitles that add context to the footage. Scenes include the use of fire, a pipe harrow, a rail, an offset disc, a wheatland plow and a brushland plow as different options for clearing brush and preparing a seedbed. The film also shows sage removal and grass seeding done simultaneously with a broadcast seeder and a disc drill; the improvement of mountain meadows with grass; and grass nursery demonstration plots.
