In this video I explain the student assignment for a professional development class that I designed for elementary educators on increasing student engagement and participation. The purpose of this course is for students to analyze student off-task behaviors using a four step procedure. Then select interventions to improve student engagement. In this first session, students will have guided practice in our Zoom class session to go through steps 1-3 of assessing off task behavior. Their assignment will then be independent practice filling out an ABC (antecedent, behavior, and consequence) chart for a student in their classroom. This will be assessed by peers using a rubric and reflections will be discussed in the next class session.
