A long-term wine grape rootstock trial has been conducted at the Oregon State University (OSU) Woodhall Vineyard, located in the south Willamette Valley. The trial has been evaluated since 2019 by Dr. Patty Skinkis, Viticulture Extension Specialist and Professor. The vines were planted in 1997 and were maintained according to commercial standards. The vineyard has been dry-farmed (not irrigated) for more than a decade. This video shows one full block of Pinot noir grafted to 19 rootstocks and own-rooted vines. There are a total of five blocks in the trial. The video was recorded in mid-October 2022, just a few days before harvest. The video includes audio by Dr. Patty Skinkis, lead PI on the project. Video compilation and editing was conducted by Chisom Molokwu, graduate research assistant.
